Rob is Verntex's CEO and principal consultant. He is a commercially astute and entrepreneurial business executive with over 35 years of technical and commercial experience gained across the energy, petrochemical waste management and plastics recycling industries. He has worked across the entire project value chain within these sectors from the inception of projects, through FEED and detailed design, plant commissioning, operation and commercial management.
In the past, Rob has grown and transformed underperforming businesses and led techno-economic due diligence studies for several industrial decarbonisation projects. He has also evaluated over €5billion worth of EU Innovation Fund grant applications.
Rob holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from Loughborough University, UK and an MBA from INSEAD, France.
Julian is a versatile investment professional with over 25 years of funding, risk, strategy and commercial experience, gained across power / energy and other infrastructure sub-sectors. Having initially developed his banking career as a project & structured financier, he then became commercial development and investment lead to an energy developer-operator focused mainly on carbon-friendly technologies. Subsequent roles have included: investment funding head to a leading infrastructure lessor – involved in M&A / investment bid strategy and execution; and senior commercial lead with the business solutions arm of an energy giant.
Julian’s consulting mandates have included contract negotiation, strategy / business development, and funding / deal structuring to businesses and funds involved in conventional / renewable energy and waste-to-energy development. In addition, he has served as an independent evaluator to the EU Innovation Fund, and has assessed over €5 billion worth of grant applications.
Julian holds a BA in Economics & Computing from the University of Sussex, UK and an MBA from INSEAD, France.
Bill has worked in the waste management sector for over 30 years. He Joined Suez shortly after they entered the UK market and oversaw an increase in annual turnover from start up to over £300 million by winning new contracts and developing new waste processing facilities and recycling projects.
He has subsequently held senior management positions within several smaller expanding waste management businesses and has developed significant expertise in new technologies. His most recent position was with a leading waste plastic pyrolysis technology business where he developed a pipeline of UK based chemical recycling projects from inception through to construction readiness. Bill has also been intimately involved in the design, commissioning and operation of various waste processing plants including MRFs and EfWs.
Bill has spoken at industry conferences in the UK, US and Europe and produced reports for a number of overseas investors with respect to investment opportunities within the UK.
He holds Master of Arts and Bachelor of Law degrees from Cambridge University, UK.
